COERCION is an 8 page comic book that accompanied the NY state End Child Trafficking bill. It illustrates how a law that forces children to prove that they were coerced into working for their trafficker is really protecting human traffickers and not children. COERCION tells the story of Flora Haynes, a 15 year old survivor of human trafficking who takes her trafficker to court but freezes when she gets up to testify and stands face-to-face with the brutal criminal who made her fear for her life as well as the life of her child.
This comic book was created for NY state legislators as they considered the End Child Trafficking bill that drops the coercion requirement from the previous human trafficking legislation.
